action - 3/1

Now this makes her hesitate. Faith stands just outside the temple for a good five minutes before she walks in. Guilt's been on her mind since the mess with the doubles started, so the atmosphere in the temple brings tears to her eyes right away.

Still, she heads for the altar, where she sets down a candle shaped like a dog with a severed leg in its mouth. (It's sad, okay? What if the leg belonged to its master or something? Figuratively, of course. It's only a candle.) It's a poor offering in and of itself, but the candle isn't the point so much as the apology it represents, the remorse and the sadness over what part of her did to the god she'd begun to feel such a connection to. She wouldn't blame him if he struck her down or somethibg right now either. It might not have been her, but she was the double's source.

None of that much matters, though, so Faith sighs shakily and pinches the wick to light it with her power. The same fire that damaged the temple now lights it a little. She prefers it that way, controlled and gentle, warm and bright.

"Sorry," she murmurs, sniffling, and she stands there for about a minute, letting the sadness build in her, for his sake. If there's no response (and she's not expecting one), she leaves, wiping tears out of her eyes as she goes.
