Oh my, do I detect a glimmer of a sense of humour? I think I may faint from the shock.
[She's amused, either way. At least Sorrow isn't under any delusion about the gods' public relations ratings.]
More seriously, I would suggest revoking their network access, monitoring them, and refusing to transact with them. It may seem tame, but sending them home only reduces the amount of people you can take emotion from and it rewards bad behaviour. Punishing them severely only turns the population against you further, whereas showing mercy when the Null would show none gives you a chance to improve people's perception of you, even if the improvement is only minor.

What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?
That makes me feel better.
I, like. Care about you or whatever, so. I don't wanna see you get hurt, if I can help it. Especially not by my hands.

It should be easier to accept after our close shave with the Null after Love came back.
Come to think of it... Can't help but wonder if that might have something to do with how they'd been able to track you guys. Seems strange that it'd take this long for them to have gotten that close. [That they know of.]

[ Well, since it seems to be honesty hour, ]
A lot of reasons.
When I first got here, you told me you were just trying to get your people back. I'd lost almost everyone from Haven so it just... stuck with me. I would've done anything for them back, so I understood what you meant.
You danced with me at the masquerade when you totally did not have to at all and I honestly didn't expect you to.
Then when I wanted to die, you told me I was needed.
And I don't hold what you have to get energy against you anymore since I know that's just how it is.
So like for as much of an asshole as you can be sometimes, you've still been really good to me.
You're my friend. Well. I think of you as my friend but like. You don't have to think the same way.

The latter. [She doesn't even want to entertain the notion of one of the gods turning on their own.] You guys are the last of your kind. Maybe they have some way of tracking you down. A unique identifier that makes it easier somehow.
It's... just a thought. Probably nothing.

You'll always have me on your side, at least.
but okay
that's enough Real Feelings for one day, if you don't mind
i'm going to go back to pretending I don't have them

[And that's why she likes you, Sorrow -- you're one of the few she feels that will actually listen.]
That'd make sense. The signature bit, anyway. Why do you think there would be other factors, though? They could've gotten lucky... or just better at finding you.

Bianca hasn't visited Sorrow's temple before, but he strikes her as probably the least unintelligent of the gods.
So after the Null's most recent post to the network, she takes a circuitous route to his temple, making some effort not to be observed, and knocks on the altar as though it were a door.
"Sorrow? Are you at home?"

"Sorrow? Are you at home?"
She smiles. Bianca isn't fond of Sorrow, but he's reliably practical.
"Of course it's obvious. Has anyone showed you the Null's most recent broadcast? How do they block their communications from you? Will you be able to read it on my device?"

If you're sure...
[She'll take his word for it, since Rey doubts that Sorrow would give her much reason to doubt.]
It's more reason why we need better means to fight them off by ourselves. We got lucky that time. That sort of luck only lasts for so long.

She hands it over without hesitation.
"People are going to die. What can we - what can I do to make sure Hope isn't one of them? Do you know anything about the nature of this weapon?"

That isn't your only option.
[She pauses, thinking for a moment.]
Back home we have these things called simulations. Sometimes they can be conducted through virtual reality, through a computer. But they can also be done through a staged exercise...
If you'd be willing, maybe some of you guys could somehow replicate a scenario based on your experience with your enemy. It'd give people a better chance at knowing what they are dealing with, and how to prepare.
You could consider it, at the very least.

Bianca snaps him an irritated glance.
"Sorrow, dear, stop trying to engage my sympathy. If there's one thing I've learned over my lifetime it's that every death matters, regardless of scale. And I've already told you I'm here to protect Hope. Trying to sell it to me is wasting both our time and yours may be limited. If you know how it works, can you shield against it? Build something that can detect it?"
