They will hunt us to the ends of the galaxy if they think we might repopulate and attack them again, so running isn't an option. Which leaves...

If they no longer had anything to fear from you, they would logically have no reason to pursue you. At least, assuming that they would continue to behave logically. I wouldn't be opposed. I doubt that it would yield any significant benefits, but I won't refuse a potential source of information. In return...
